Status Items
Here is a short version of a status item guide:
In addition to gaining status by completing writs assigned by city NPCs, it is also possible to gain status by turning in "status items" dropped by creatures you defeat in combat. Each city faction is interested in a certain type of item: fighters are interested in relics, mages in scrying stones, priests in amulets, and scouts in sealed documents.
The quality of items found will vary depending upon the level range (tier) of the zones in which they were dropped, with higher-quality items of course being worth more status. Regardless of where the items are found, though, they may be turned in for status to any writ-giver of the appropriate city faction.
Unlike completing writs, turning in status items does *not* affect your actual faction standing with the city factions.

At these guilds you can pick up writs, speak with class trainers and deal with guild merchants. The merchants will have special items you can buy if your faction status with that guild is high enough. The merchant will also buy the status items from you. NOTE: Make sure the price they are paying includes status points!! If not you are at the wrong place.
Ok so I got 100 status – why is my guild status only showing 10? If you look at your persona window you should see Personal Status and Guild Status. When ever you get personal status (like the 100 for selling a relic) the guild gets 10% or 10 points. Remember every point earned helps you and your guild! As you level the status items grow in value.
